2018.6 Release Notes

Blue Stars are now available! This new star types provides a short 5 minute combat experience against other players and/or AI controlled battleships. The player with the last Battleship standing in the rapidly collapsing Star wins the mission.

Optional app update (2.145.1)

This is an optional app update. You are not required to update to continue playing, but the update is recommended for everyone. This update will roll out gradually over the course of a week, from October 10 to October 17. Look for version 2.145.1 on the App Store and Google Play, and download it when it becomes available for you. Changes:  Bomber Coverage heatmap display is now available on Red Star level 7 and above, and can help formulate high level strategy. Enable from the red star's CURRENT STAR window.   Bomber will show a charge indicator over it, to help predict when the rockets will be fired without having to select the bomber. Landscape mode: Fixed issue with offset module details screen Fixed frequent causes of Fatal Out of Sync errors on Red Star level 7 and above Fixed an issue in the Corporation Search window where the tap area for the Region selection was offset on devices with high aspect ratio Time machine: Modules for ships that are jumping out

October server update

Upcoming Red Star changes

As explained before , the interactions between strangers in public Red Stars are not what we wanted them to be. Starting next update, we are eliminating the incentives and opportunities for griefing (i.e. intentionally attacking or disrupting other players). In the process we are also introducing the first of many changes to make Red Stars less repetitive and more unique, exciting and likely to encourage different strategies. Here are the changes and the motivation behind them:

Combat Cerberus Destroyer now does Area Damage to all player ships when it is destroyed, and when the planet it is working on is destroyed Increased number of max level planets on RS8+ Modules New RS6 module: Blast Shield New RS7 module: Delta Rocket New RS10 module: Omega Rocket Passive Shield: Decreased regeneration delay and total time to regenerate. These times are now constant and no longer increase when the shield is upgraded. Reduced shield strength on level 2 and up. Mirror Shield: Increased shield strength on level 1 through 5 Stealth: Cooldown reduced to 5 min (2d 2h in White Stars) Barrage: Maximum number of enemies considered for damage output has been increased (8 in White Star, 16 in Red Star) Other changes Research Station can be used to salvage all artifacts on docked ships (can be used to salvage when the station is full) The distinction popup will show the total time a player has occupied the #1 spot on the leaderboards, for players

Note that in an always evolving game, priorities can change. I intentionally don't give any time frames. White Star - Your Stories

Last month we asked you to share with us your experiences in White Stars. We had an overwhelming response - thank you to everyone who wrote in! We've read everything and while we can't feature or respond to everything you wrote, your experiences and feedback have been noted and will be used to evolve the game in the years ahead. There was one very common theme in a majority of your responses: White Stars offer a social experience that brings people together. There were so many stories of getting to know your Corporation mates, sticking together through good and bad times, learning the game as a team and passing on the knowledge to new players. For this post we picked some representative stories to share with the entire community. Some of the featured responses have been edited slightly for brevity and clarity.  The screenshots accompanying this article were posted on our Discord channel by our players and are not related to the stories.

2018.1 release notes

Modules New level 8 orb and blue crystal artifacts on RS8, and new planet visual New RS8 module: Area shield (absorbs hull damage to any allied ships in range) Increased hydrogen yield for artifacts found on RS7 and above Destiny: Range reduced by ~10% Teleport: Before the teleportation actually happens, the ship goes into an activating period where the ship stays in place and will still participate in combat (5 sec in RS, 4 hours in WS). All players can see the teleport target during the activation period. Cooldown reduced to 6m (2.5d in White star). Teleport range on White Stars increased on all levels. Barrier only blocks a ship from entering the teleport activation phase for a specific location. Once a ship is in teleport activation, the teleport will succeed even if there's later a barrier at the destination. Laser: Increased min damage on all levels and max damage on lv6+. Reduced ramp up time to 45 seconds on all levels. This also affects Cerberus Colossus. Battery
