Incoming Server update with module balancing

We will be deploying a server only update next week (August 30-September 3). No app update is necessary but there will be a short maintenance while we deploy the update. 

The following module changes will be part of update: 

  • Laser Turret: Damage greatly increased on all levels. Hydrogen cost to activate reduced. 
  • Hydrogen Rocket: Damage greatly increased on all levels.
  • Alpha Drone: Damage per second greatly increased. HP reduced on early levels.
  • Dart Launcher: Hydrogen movement cost decreased

  3. Would be great to see an end to the pet/ bond grab and leap situation white stars have devolved into. Used to be like chess in 2018, now is a battle of who can be online the most

    1. It would be nice if they balanced the game, but I don't think they will unfortunately. It would require them to put in time and testing, which I don't think they really care enough to do. Its easier to arbitrarily change variable values and call it a balance update.

    2. I hope you know that they have a very small dev team, and they have to manage two games. Cut them some slack.

    3. I think they still care, but unfortunately it doesn't get communicated to the HS community very well... because we can't interact with them in any way. I assume they see our suggestions because previous updates have provided things the community wanted (somewhat), but i think what the community really wants is a bit more comms with the devs? Lets see how this small update goes

    4. I wonder if the game would improve if they valued the same modules at the same amount that we do. Such as laser turret 1 is not more valuable than destiny12. So now we get more mismatches because a few guys unlocked laser turret. Instead at the moment the modules that are relied on so heavily are not really a factor in matching.

  4. There isn’t any point buffing the laser turret because no one wants to research it. It has too much ws score and it screws up ws matchmaking.

  7. Hmm will be interesting to see how much the mods are changed; i agree more could be done to spice things up and make us reassess the ways things have been, but at least something is changing. \_0_/

  8. Classic nothing burger. When will developers learn to model (use statistical and econometrical modeling) for mods in terms of ability, cost, score (for matching) etc. rather than hmmm let’s make a new mod called laser turret, let’s make it cost this and give it these abilities, oh that didn’t work, lets “re-balance”. Someone said ws has devolved into who’s online the most and that’s exactly what it’s become.
